Effectiveness of Floating Breakwater in Special Configurations for Protecting Nearshore Infrastructures

This paper investigates the effectiveness of floating breakwaters consisting two barges (L-shape), three (U-shape), four (barge frame), and conventional single breakwater. The different spatial layouts have sheltered internal gaps/moonpools when compared to their counterparts. motions these in wave transmission motion reduction protected bodies are evaluated. study is conducted based on a subsystem hydrocarbon storage facility that combines breakwater with tanks, studied previously. Numerical models linear potential flow theory built for without tanks. numerical barge frame validated through laboratory experiments, dipole damping lids reduce resonant fluid calibrated experimental results.
